The granola company has issued a voluntary recall after foreign matter was found in products by customers.

Purely Elizabeth has issued a voluntary recall after some customers found foreign objects in a variety of grain-free granolas and bars. These products were sold at major retailers such as Whole Foods, Fresh Market, Walmart, Target, and Amazon across the country.

Purely Elizabeth issued a statement on their website saying, “If you have purchased our Coconut Cashew Grain-Free Granola, Banana Nut Butter Grain-Free Granola, Pumpkin Spice + Ashwagandha Grain-Free Superfood Granola, they may be impacted by this recall.” It was originally believed that Purely Elizabeth bars were part of the recall, but Hilary Martin, a public relations representative for Purely Elizabeth, says they "fortunately did not make it to retail." 

The company said that nuts from their cashew supplier contained foreign objects, and they’ve already replaced that cashew supplier. They issue was reportedly discovered as a result of customer communication. Martin says, “foreign matter may contain things like plastic, rocks or small pebbles, or pieces of glass.”

If you believe you’ve purchased any of the affected products from Purely Elizabeth, do not consume them. To see if your item has been recalled, you should check the UPC code on the back.
