Last night’s Emmys was full of surprises, laughs, and eye-watering moments. Thanks to the host of the evening, late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, the audience was kept entertained, happy, and like any good host, well-fed. With the help of Kimmel’s mother, 7,000 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches were made in preparation for the show and distributed by the young stars of Stranger Things. Throughout the show, Kimmel followed up these nostalgic brown-bagged lunches with apples, juice boxes, and personalized notes written by his mom.

Watching our favorite celebs munching on what is arguably the greatest lunchtime combination in the history of packed lunches definitely reminded us just how much we love a good peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Lucky for you, PB&J’s don’t have to be enjoyed solely inside the walls of an elementary school cafeteria.

Between thumbprint cookies, muffins, or pancakes, we are not afraid to put a mature spin on this kid-favorite. However, we’re also unopposed to slathering a crunchy nut butter and our favorite fruit jam on a hearty slice of bread and calling it a day.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Muffins

What's a breakfast muffin without an oozy jelly center surrounded by nutty goodness? Your kids will be asking for a second batch.
